Contrails: Apr '26, Week 2

I am writing this as I wait for a friend to come over to visit! Got to know them several years back through my partner, but life happened and we lost touch. Looking forward to catching up with them! 🥹 Edit: Oops! They arrived and I ended up only getting back to writing much later! 🤣 It was a nice catch up. 💜

Been struggling with bad sleep due to warm nights for the first half of the week, and nursing a really bad pain in my neck/ lower mandible for the past few days, but I want to remember the week for what I managed to achieve in spite of it all!

🎮 Gaming 🎮

If only I could recover HP as quickly as they did, sleeping in such uncomfortable clothes and bedding... 🤔

🥺 I don't like playing games when I feel that time could be better spent doing more productive things like projects or chores, but the pain and discomfort this week left me feeling like the best way to maximize my time would be to hop between tasks.

So I decided to pick up a new game that I could easily hop in and out of!

1. Returned to Divinity: Original Sin! I played Divinity what felt like EONS ago, before the Enhanced Edition was released. With 109 hours into the original game, it's amazing that I never managed to complete the story. 🤔 But my only experience with CRPGs back then was Avernum 1 to 3, so I guess the game challenged me to think differently? Anyway, I found some time to play the Enhanced Edition, and I'm enjoying it so far! 💜 Will I finally reach the end of the story, before Divinity 3's out?! 🤔🤔🤔

2. Played FFXIV with some friends, and got to meet someone new! We did an evening of treasure maps, and 2 nights of Endwalker mount farming. I didn't care for the loot, so I joined just to press buttons and hear my friend's laughter. 🥹🥹🥹

3. Finished the Green Hell: Spirits of Amazonia story! It did a good job making me feel like going back to the main story to attempt to reach the true end, but I'm done with this game for now!

4. Watched the Triple I Initiative 2026 stream! I'm looking forward to Windrose Early Access that releases tomorrow (14 April), and Don't Starve Elsewhere! 🥹💜

5. Got another achievement in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds! The remaining 2 within my skill level will eventually be achieved by just playing the game, so I'm glad that I no longer need to "chase" a particular achievement by repeating a specific game mode. 🎉

   

   The one I'm passing on will require me to min-max how I play, so no thanks!

Although, a part of me has been itching to give BlazBlue's story mode another go. 🤔 I would need to replay Continuum Shift Extend because I've long forgotten everything though...

🎞️ Projects 🎞️

Been trying to transcribe a song I wanted to cover with Yuraia. Progress is alright, but I'll be back to editing vocals for a cover I'm trying to publish by this month this week. 🎵

🍴 IRL 🍴

Met up with a friend for ramen! Took a photo of the food, but I think I appreciated the company more than the Yuzu Chashu Ramen I had... 🙃

So here are 2 photos of bear-shaped ice cubes (ice-bears? 🤔) I've been adding to my drinks! The ice tray was gifted by my mother for my birthday. 💜

Not bad, huh! I was worried that it wouldn't be obvious in the drinks, but I could recognize them even after they were 50% melted. :) Now I'm reminded of my mother every morning because my mother likes teddy bears. 💜 (Please ignore the undissolved instant coffee bit on the left... it's not a bug I swear...)

☆ HAVE FUN BEING A SEAFARER IN WINDROSE. I actually really like the idea of sailing to faraway lands, but IRL I suffer from motion sickness so I can only ever lie down and look at the sky when on a boat... 🙃
