Contrails: Jul '26, Week 4

Hi! My week was alright. :) I had quite a number of things planned, and I did get to them all, but I've yet to complete some of the main ones. That's alright though! I'll get back to work after reflecting on the past week. 💜

🎮 Gaming 🎮

I was on the verge of rage quitting Granblue Fantasy: Relink all week, but with my partner's encouragement and friend's help, I managed to get through all the combat content available in the Endless Ragnarok DLC. 🎉 I figured that it was better to get carried to the end than to waste the money my partner had spent to let me revisit the game. According to them I played my part well, and that was good enough. 💀

Having "completed" the DLC, I think it doesn't add much to the base game. It also begs for your time to grind for more levels, then lets you experience effectively only 3 new major fights (and a few "trash mob"/ mini-boss fights). I think the price tag is justified for the amount of gaming hours required and the amount of new content. But for a DLC that was supposedly a major update after many years because the developers felt that they had unfulfilled dreams for the game... I can't say that I see the vision. 🙃

So my advice for anyone looking to try the game is: If you're almost 10 hours in the base game, and you love it, buy the DLC ASAP because there is content that was intended to flesh out the base game. If you wait until you finish the base game to get the DLC, you'll experience the same strange pacing that I did whereby the "new" content was a bunch of mobs I could kill in 2-3 hits (and I'm not a min-max-er and I don't spend much time on builds). 💀

For the rest of the week, I played Forza Horizon 6 every other day, and a tiny bit of Divinity: Original Sin and Final Fantasy XIV. 💜 I was looking forward to the Keynote address from FFXIV Fan Fest in Berlin, and it did not disappoint! Thank god I'm not that interested in the new main tank job! Hours spent leveling and gearing saved! 🤣🤣🤣 Anyway, watching updates to FFXIV has always been such a joy, and it has made me look forward to the next time I log in. ✨

Not in this picture, but I redid the tuning on my Hennessey Venom F5 because it wasn't performing as I hoped. It's much better now and I'm quite pleased! But now I miss the Acura NSX Type S...

Still editing the vocals for the next cover! Yuraia has graciously agreed to help with the mix, so I'll try my best to hand off the tuned and timed lines ASAP so that he has the flexibility to choose when he wants to work on the mix. 🥺

Nagi told me last night that she was reminded of me when listening to Mizi from Alien Stage. I'll take it as a compliment. 🥹

♪ Start editing vocals for one of the collab songs.

☆ Burn off the calories from this past weekend. 🤔

☆ Have the energy to do all the chores I want to! ✨ Been tired this past week.

☆ Play Forza Horizon 6! (Enjoy the last bit of Autumn before Winter strikes and I can't see off roads anymore. =3=)

☆ Play FFXIV! (A patch drops tomorrow, Tuesday.)

☆ Play Divinity! (I think I'll start a new RPG after I'm done with this one.)
