Contrails: Oct '26, Week 3

Aaaaaand it's a new week! 💖

I don't have many screenshots to share this week, but much gaming was done, I think! A significant amount of time went into watching my partner play (and finish) Castlevania: Belmont's Curse though. 🤔

Indulged in Baldur's Gate 3 a little at the start of the week. (I'm not sure if "indulge" can be moderated by "a little". 🤔🤣) Got to see new cut-scenes and conversations once again. I love this game so much. I keep wanting to start a new game to go through the whole story once more, but I'm enjoying the "peace" in this run. This is the only run I've done as a sorcerer, and the only solo run I've romanced Gale. I don't foresee myself doing another Gale run because I'm not a fan of how the Wizard class is played (it IS very strong though), and I don't like to change the class of origin characters. Story-wise, I've romanced Gale as both a Warlock and Sorcerer already, and I don't want to play as a bard, so I'm going to miss being amused when Gale questions my magical capabilities. 🤣 Not saying that I need to romance anyone during a play-through, but being a tadpole-protected vampire has its benefits. ⎛⎝( ` ᢍ ´ )⎠⎞ᵐᵘʰᵃʰᵃ

... and everything that leads up to that point, of course. 🥺💔

My desire for progress was instead satiated in Final Fantasy XIV.

I decided to start putting time into leveling Gunbreaker and getting back into the game in preparation for Fanfest 2026 in Tokyo happening this weekend (31 Oct & 1 Nov). In the grand scheme of things, it's now 3 months to Evercold, and I have quite a backlog of things to do before the new expansion:

1. Level Gunbreaker to 100 (got my weapon glam this past week, and leveled from 70-75!)

2. Aunt Tii's Custom Deliveries

3. Occult Crescent

4. Cosmic Exploration

5. General housekeeping (Books, tokens, dyes, inventory, apartment & housing items, replenishing squadron manuals, putting away my FSH gear since I don't use it at all, etc.)

6. Upgrading crafter gear (I think some of my main and off-hands are still level 90...)

By starting early, hopefully I'll be able to complete most of these at a comfortable pace! ✨

I also checked out the character creation 1 more time before the system gets updated in Evercold. Decided to make other characters for fun!

The collage ended up being less cool than I imagined it to be. 🤣

I played Forza Horizon 6 just a little, but didn't force myself to boot up the game when I didn't feel like it. Had a nice chat with my brother over cars when we met on the weekend at my mother's. :) 💜

Played Ratatan too! I'm glad that the Episode 2 progression bug is now fixed, so my partner has finally reached Episode 3! I'm not sure if we'd ever complete the game together though -- each round of Ratatan averages to 30-40 minutes, so it's a huge time commitment to keep replaying the game when there isn't a lot of variety between rounds. I might end up completing it by myself someday? We'll see.

To round off the week, I finally started Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii! I'm not sure how I feel about the story, but it's fun to play an action game! If Valheim doesn't count as an action game, then it's been a while since my last one (when I tried Titanfall2 at the start of September). 🤔

I can't seem to get the graphics to look as good as it did in Lost Judgement though. 🤔 I'll review the game settings before the next stream (I'm streaming the game for friends).

I realized that I had misunderstood Envato Element's license terms. 😬 Not that there will be any impact to past projects, but I decided to respect the terms for future ones! I'll have 1 month to complete and publish any video project that needs assets in future. 🤔 Sounds do-able!

Spent quite a lot of time over the weekend (and this morning) trying to decide if I wanted to make any purchases in preparation for Comic Fiesta weekend. Decided not to buy anything and to dress up in "casual" attire, so I get to save some money! ✨ But some purchases still need to be made. 🤔 Or could I make what I need with what I have? 🤔🤔🤔 We'll see!
