Did quite a bit of work this week on hindsight. 🤔 Some projects are soon to be wrapped up, and I've been resisting the temptation to throw in a quick cover for Pride Month. 🥹 Should I? Or should I stay focused on what I already have on my plate?! 🥺
For now, my week!
🌙 Work as Minerva 🌙
You know the solo cover I've been trying to put together since last month? I ran out of steam and inspiration, so I decided to wrap up the project into a YouTube Short instead. 🙃💔 I think my biggest struggle is still identifying what "flavor" of chords to use based on the original work. I can't really tell what the "root" notes are, and not being tone deaf just helps with identifying single notes when listening to a melody line/ bass line. But the moment harmonies/ counter melodies come in, I have a hard time deciding if the note I landed on is correct -- what if I'm just 1/2 step off? So I got stuck. :(
I took whatever little I've put together and sent it to Yuraia for his thoughts, and fortunately he found it alright. He had agreed to help with guitar lines, so I figured that if he wasn't happy with playing over it that I'd either scrap the project or just work with what I had. But he recorded his parts over the weekend and helped to fix my arrangement a little. 🥹 Now all that's left is to review the mix and put together the video, both of which I've enlisted his help once again. 🙃
I don't regret the time I've put into this project because it served as a reminder of what kind of creator I am. I always ask myself, "What am I doing this for/ what is the point of this?" in everything I do. It empowers me to go beyond, but also causes me to give up quickly. I am motivated by purpose/ value (long or short-term), which makes "for fun" very difficult to swallow. I think, subconsciously, I am aware that my music projects will never have any purpose beyond self-gratification, so I try to rush to complete them as quickly as possible before self-control overshadows impulse and enthusiasm. 🙃 But I'm not giving up on doing music, so I'll take a moment to do some self-reflection before working on the next solo project! ✨
Naturally, one would ask, "Why don't you pick up skills to be better at making music?" I learned how to use Ableton Live because I had a vision to work towards back then. But diving deeper into music gave me clarity on how I interact with it. I learned that I'm less musical than I thought I was -- I'm really only paying attention to when there's a sound, when it disappears, and the words put in my brain that aren't mine. The beeps and boops. How the light looks against the darkness. A "boom" or "klack" of a body movement (it's the imagery if I should speed up to a beat, or speed up after a beat). Maybe deep down I'm still more a dancer than a musician, even if I haven't done choreography in a long time... 🤔
But that's enough rumination for today! 🤣
I also got started on a collab. MV! 🎉 Looking forward to the end product! 💜 I think we're well on track to releasing it this month. ✨✨✨
🎮 Gaming 🎮

There was 1 weekend afternoon of Risk of Rain 2, but otherwise it was Forza Horizon 6 all week. 🚗💨
I finally decided on a favorite car just based off how I felt about it. 💜 I figured that it was my favorite when I didn't mind losing a race if it meant that I got a chance to take it out for a spin. ✨ Haven't decided if I want to give it a new coat of paint though, because the stock already looks amazing. 🤔🥹
I'll share a screenshot of it next week if I do repaint? 🤔✨

~💜~
Hopes for this week
♪ Finish the collab. MV
♪ Publish the short cover Short.
♪ Practice and record vocals for another collab.
☆ Play Forza Horizon 6.
Not going to list any other games because I'm just being honest with myself. 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for reading! 🌙🐰
