Looking back: Jun '25, Week 3

The week flew by! I think I spent quite a lot of time this week planning for the forever home? Touched quite a lot of grass too!

✨ Cover projects -- Almost done editing vocals for a cover, but realized a small problem...

The good news is that I'm almost done tuning and timing vocals, so another day of hard work should do the trick! But there are 3 pieces of bad news:

1. It will be quite a while more before the cover is done. Current estimates point to end of July.

2. If I move house in August, I only have July left to comfortably record covers. It is likely that after I move, either the neighborhood would have a lot of construction noise, or I would need to prioritize the move and settling in for a good few weeks.

3. I have a larger project planned for October (my Live2D anniversary!), so I'll probably spend September working on it. Which means that if I don't release anything within the next month or so, I'll have radio silence on YouTube for 4.5 months. 💀

   
   

I'll try to handover the current cover over to Yuraia by today, and check how much I can realistically get done within the next month. 🙃

✨ Gaming -- Started and finished TAISHO X ALICE Episode 1! (and played BG3-)

I finally got down to playing TAISHO X ALICE one evening when I was feeling physically tired. I usually love Baldur's Gate 3 enough that I'd play it even if I was tired, but I was REALLY tired that evening, so I booted up TAISHO X ALICE and left it on Auto.

It's been MANY years since I played a visual novel, and this game seems to have rekindled my love for them. 🥹 In particular, I really liked how TAISHO X ALICE times animations to match the voice lines, making the story a lot more immersive. Overall the game was rather simple, and felt a little dated at times. But I enjoyed how the game reframed the stories of Little Red Riding Hood and Cinderella! 💕

I enjoyed Cinderella's story (and character trope) a lot more though! 💙

Cute. 🥹💜

I took about 15 hours to finish both stories in Episode 1. Looking forward to playing Episode 2! 💖

... Surely you don't need me to tell you more about Baldur's Gate 3, do you? 😏🤣

✨ Touched grass -- Attended a friend's wedding!

I don't have many friends, but I've met many colleagues over the years that have treated me with a lot of kindness and understanding. In particular, I have a few from my last company who continue to remind me to touch grass. 🤣 I'm blessed to have people consider me good enough of a friend to want to keep in touch with me. 🥹

This past weekend, I attended one such friend's wedding! It was a small reception for friends of the bride and groom. It was chill and cozy! 💜 When the newly weds approached our table (I was with my other ex-colleague-friends), they exclaimed that the truly special occasion was being able to meet a rare Pokémon such as myself. (*/ω＼*) Clearly, I'm not a very social person... 🥺

Oh yes, let me backtrack a little: I arrived at the wedding reception a little too early, so I took a stroll around the area and chanced upon this sight. Somehow there were a lot of foreign tourists trying to snap photos of each other from across this street to get these colorful houses in the background. 🤔 So I blended in and snapped a photo too! 🤣

Maybe they've just never seen these kinds of buildings from colonial times before? 🤔

All in all, it was nice to be in the company of some friends for once. 💜

✨ Forever home -- Did lots of planning, placed furniture orders, and felt poor looking at my bank account balance... 🥺

Nothing special this week! I'm glad that I spent time to lay out a renovation and house move timeline so that it is clear what needs to be done. Will need to purchase white goods this weekend and a few more bathroom accessories.

I keep wondering if I need more cabinet/ storage space... 🤔🤔🤔 But I really won't know until I move, huh.

I'm feeling hopeful that everything will progress smoothly! ⭐️
