Looking back: Jun '25, Week 4

Come tomorrow, half of 2025 would have passed! Where did all the time go?!

I'm writing this week's update a little later than usual because I was busy since morning! I'll include today's happenings below. ✨

✨ Cover projects -- Started working on a new cover!

Seeing as that majority of respondents on my Discord poll voted for me to cover Hoshimachi Suisei's GHOST, I started working on the cover after I was done editing the vocals of another to hand off to Yuraia for mixing.

I was never a Hololive fan, so it's probably no surprise that I heard Ari's piano & vocal cover of GHOST before Suisei's original. The lyrics spoke to me, and the song always stuck around at the back of my mind, occasionally resurfacing as an earworm.

To me, Suisei has always been 'Ari's thing', so I never entertained the thought of covering the song. But when I was looking for a song to cover for pride month, I revisited GHOST and felt that the lyrics were even more special now.

So I added it to the list of songs for the Gems to vote for... and they picked it. 🥺

I decided to try recording the lead vocals and harmonies in 2 separate sessions, so as of now I've recorded, tuned and timed the lead vocals, have raw doubling tracks, and decided on the plan for the video. I wanted to try something different, so I dug my closet for an outfit... and settled for this.

My apron and headband from back when I was a part of a meido/ local idol group. The stars were meant to form the Aries constellation (one star is blocked by my hair!)
A star and piano seifuku that I only wore once for a street gig... A gig that I didn't know would set me on a very different path.
A black ribbon instead of the yellow I used to wear.
My favourite wig. I used to have this 'jellyfish' haircut back when I was active in the local J-culture/ cosplay scene. It was a wig I bought for cosplaying Yahisa Tsukiko YEARS ago. This was the 2nd cosplay wig I ever owned I think!

Yuraia helped with setting up the lights and recording the video! I hope the video turns out alright. 🥺 Please look forward to it!

✨ Gaming -- Finished TAISHO X ALICE episodes 2 & 3, started Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth (... and Baldur's G-)

I'm looking forward to playing the finale (epilogue) of TAISHO X ALICE. I've thoroughly enjoyed the game & story! Kaguya's story triggered a lot of my bad memories and I was really depressed for about a day or 2. But I adore the character very much so I decided not to let the memories linger. I don't even remember what the triggers were today, and I'd like to keep it this way.

My favorite character is still Cinderella though. 🤔🤔🤔 Gotta love a guy who seems 27/28 years old who works hard at his job. (I want... Cinderella with glasses...)

Took a break from TAISHO X ALICE to stream Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth for friends! Would share a screenshot, but I'll save my storage space for when I reunite with my boys - Han Joongi and Zhao Tianyou. 💜💜 (Also just realized... my favorite characters are the non-Japanese people. 🤔🤔🤔)
