Looking back: Mar '25, Week 4

I was so busy that I wasn't even online much all week! Also, was so tired from being out the whole day on Monday that I didn't manage to get to my Moon-day update! 🌙 Happy April Fool's... it's a post on Tuesday instead? 🤔

✨ Needlework -- Spent 4 days working on Ari's birthday present, and 2 altering my cosplay costume for a photoshoot

Yes, because the snow bunny lady deserves no less! The present made it into her hands in time for her birthday so I was glad! It felt surreal using skills and materials I've accumulated over the last decade all in one project. Maybe it was fitting because I've known her for most of the last decade! My handiwork actually isn't very refined because most of what I've learned was for cosplay, and if you know a cosplayer, you probably know that the ends justify the means - for the end product to LOOK good and not fall apart when it matters. 🤣 Still, I hope she likes it! (Won't post a photo because it's her gift! Sorry!)

Funnily enough, my sewing machine gave up after I was done with Ari's present. 🙃 I didn't even use it much for the gift, but after sinking its needle into my cosplay costume for 5 minutes, it decided that it was time to be oiled... except I have no oil, and I didn't have the time to head out to buy it either. Thank god my mother has a sewing machine (which was a newer model than mine I'm so jealous), so I borrowed hers and finished my costume!

✨ Gaming -- Did FFXIV extreme trial with my static, and returned to Wormwood in Don't Starve Together!

This is getting old, but yes I was stressed and anxious. 🥹 I realized that I was under-geared about 15 mins before the agreed raid time, and had to scramble to eat as much of my dinner as I could stomach and to update my gear.

We didn't clear the fight in 1 session, but we did the next day! We redid the fight until everyone got the weapon reward.

Spent time preparing for today's (Tuesday, 1 Apr) savage raid drop too, and noticed a cool photo opportunity when doing some old content. So here's a photo of my spanking new weapon!

Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen. Also, the updated graphics makes metal look so gooooooooooooood.

After being done with FFXIV for the week, I was back playing Don't Starve Together! Changed back to Wormwood and playing just felt so much better. 🥹 I love my Wormwood skin, so maybe I should take a picture of it the next time I play!

✨ Cosplay -- Went for a photoshoot!

I don't actively cosplay anymore because it's such an expensive hobby to upkeep, and needs so much storage space for not just the costumes, but the crafting materials and tools. But when I was asked by Ari to join a special photoshoot I agreed without hesitation.

I tossed out my yellow eyeshadow that I used for my eyebrows back in the day just a month before Ari's invitation. screams Thanks for saving me with yours, Ari! 🥺💜

I was asked to cosplay a character that I last cosplayed... over 10 years ago? But I enjoyed studying the character again, being reminded of why I liked her, and practicing poses and mannerisms in preparation of the photoshoot! Truly the best girl of the series (to me).

It was interesting meeting cosplayers of different levels of experience after so long. I felt like a relic, yet still very much at home. Maybe deep down I still love cosplay like an old flame. 🤣

♪ Clear my backlog of... housework. The house is in an absolute mess from all the crafting and negligence.

♪ Edit vocals! My ears seem better!
