The plans for the week got derailed by persistent hacking and drilling works a floor below my apartment. 🙃 But I tried to make do!

Cover Projects -- Squeezed in some progress on the weekend

Honestly, when the noise stopped on the weekend I felt so relieved. The forced break also made me a little more motivated to make progress with vocal edits. Will get back to it after this! 🎵

I realized that it might be quite a long time more before the commissioned artworks are completed though. 🥺 I will need to figure out an alternative solution for the video.

Gaming -- Cleared the FFXIV savage raid tier! Started a new Baldur's Gate 3 run with friends!

What a gloomy ending scene. 🤔
What a gloomy ending scene. 🤔

It's been a tiring week of raiding. On previous tiers, my static usually does 2 to 3 sessions of 2.5 hours per week. This week, we raided from Monday to Friday on an average of 3 hours per session.

Progress with the static was... within expectations. By Thursday, we were still nowhere near clearing M8S -- I don't count scraping by, with many deaths because people were lost and did the mechanic wrongly, as being near clearing. Our static leader initially made it clear to the team that the target was to clear that day, and that he was of the mind to disband the static if we failed to do so. But seeing as that some were struggling with latency and feeling unwell that day, he decided to give it another week. However, on Friday, a few of us went to Party Finder to try to clear... and we did!

Except a fallout happened right after our clear. Suddenly 2 people said that they wanted to drop out with immediate effect and several of the static members were dragged into becoming mediators. I spent the rest of the weekend feeling weighed down... I don't usually raid outside of a static, but the one time I agreed to join, I end up receiving collateral damage to dramatics.

Fortunately people calmed down and we'll get to try another week to help those who have yet to complete the fight. I'm quite tired. But I'll try my best for another week!

On the bright side, I got to play a little bit of Don't Starve Together and Baldur's Gate 3 with friends over the weekend! 💖 We started a new game of BG3 where I'm not playing a warlock for once. Haha!

Games are best enjoyed with friends, I think! 💜

(I didn't progress my solo Dark Urge run, but that's okay!🤣)

Handicraft -- Made a sun hat!

Featuring: my fan.
Featuring: my fan.

Remember the construction noise? I did try to do some vocal editing, but the noise was at a frequency that made it difficult to discern vocals, so on Tuesday I gave up and went to touch grass and run an errand (more on that later).

Knowing that it was noisy back home, I decided to take a stroll to the nearby Daiso. Floating through the aisles, I found myself at the handicraft section where a fancy yarn ball caught my eye. I remembered wanting a sun hat recently (I think I wrote about it a week or so ago), and thought... what if I just made one? 🤔

So I bought some yarn and went home... to the noise. 🥹 But focusing on the project helped drown it out. I ended up needing more yarn than I initially bought, so I had to go get more the next day. 2 whole days later, I was a proud owner of a hand-made hat! 💜👒

Saw someone make a bow at the back of a sun hat, and I wanted to try it too!
Saw someone make a bow at the back of a sun hat, and I wanted to try it too!

I pretty much free-handed this thing because I couldn't find a free pattern online. It looks a little bumpy from the front because I don't really like the bucket hat look, so I tried to make it have some waves and structure.

It was fun making something! 🧶

I still need to add a band of fabric on the inner rim and attach some hair combs/ clips so that it holds better to my head, but I'm done for now! 💖

Forever home -- Was shocked that a major defect was not rectified, but ended the week with a fun trip to look at furnishings.

On the same Tuesday that I bought the yarn, I went down to my house to verify that there are no more defects that could interfere with renovation that is due to start this week. To my horror, there was a cracked tile that I had asked to be replaced, but it was completely untouched. All the building management did was remove the masking tape that was used to point out the error! The audacity!!!

So I called the management and asked for it to be fixed. I'll follow up on it later. I sure hope that they fix it because I was supposed to install a curtain rod bracket on that tile. 🙃 But having done whatever I could, all that was left was to wait.

On the weekend I went to check out some wooden furniture and tried out Yogibo bean bags. I learned that I'm not a huge fan of high contrast wood grain, so I'll probably spend more time looking for wardrobes made using some kind of laminated engineered wood instead. Yogibo was kinda comfy!

Renovation starts this week, and the house should be done in 6 to 7 weeks! I hope it will be a smooth process! 🥺

~💜~

Hopes for this week

♪ Edit vocals for the next cover, and mix if I can!

♪ Get some practice for the one after.

☆ All goes well for the house ☆ Eat a little cleaner 🤔 I think I had one too many tasty meals last week.

☆ FFXIV: The earlier we clear, the sooner I get to practice playing Paladin again. 🥺

☆ More game time with friends! 💜

Thank you for reading! 🌙🐰
