Looking back: Jul '25, Week 1

Lately I've been feeling like I'm not doing enough, but at the same time I can't seem to figure out what I want to do. So I'm thinking of cutting back on the time I spend on YouTube, to reduce noise and be with myself more. 🤔 Honestly, I already spend very little time on social media, but I feel like I'm not listening to myself enough and getting influenced into thinking that I have to chase new content -- my feed is filled by multiple creators, but there's only 1 of me! 🥺

In other news, I had a pretty good week! ⭐️

✨ Gaming -- Got rekt by Tempered Seregios and ran around Hawaii... wondering when I'll finally see my boys :(

Returned to MonHunWilds to check out the Street Fighter and Free Title Update 2. Did not quite enjoy the Street Fighter update, but Lagiacrus and Seregios were pretty fun! The underwater combat for Lagiacrus felt like a chore though. 🤔

A friend wanted to hunt a tempered Seregios after finding the normal Seregios way too easy, and boy did we get beaten up so bad (we did it on the 4th try). Ignoring the fact that I've been playing on Rarity 5 Hirabami gear this whole time, it was not fun trying to play aerial Insect Glaive when it keeps attacking from the air. =3= Fortunately I'm not THAT stubborn and changed up my play each round instead:

1. Went in with Lightning element Insect Glaive helicopter, thinking, "I'm here for a fun time, not a good time," and boy did I wish for a better time.

2. Went in with Poison status Hunting Horn, suffered from not executing my songs right because it's been a long time since I used that HH.

3. Tried the HH again. Got annoyed that my friends kept chasing the Seregios further and further away from my Echo Bubbles. =3=

4. Went back with Lightning element IG... BUT was a good girl and kept my feet plastered to the floor. :) Honestly this made the most sense cause it was easier to hit its weak spot (the feet).

... And then we cleared. 🤣 Not saying that we did because of me, but hey at least I wasn't struggling anymore. :P

After that session I realized that I could upgrade my armor sets, and make one for IG and one for HH. I like playing both weapons and usually pick which weapon to use based on the monster's move set and weaknesses. So now I have 2 new armor sets! Yay I've graduated from Rarity 5!!! 🎉🎉🎉 (I'm missing a glove but it's not a big deal.)

But I'll still use Hirabami as my layered armor though. :P Ribbon monster is my one true love. Changed my look just for the photo op.

On to Like A Dragon! I've been streaming my playthrough of Like A Dragon 8 for some friends every evening. The game is fun! But since I'm not a huge fan of Ichiban, the current cast feels a little dull since Kiryu doesn't get to talk much. 🥺 When will I get to see Han Joongi and Zhao Tianyou? 💔

And of course I played BG3. But I'm waiting for a change of scenery to take new screenshots. 🙃 Oh, and I started on TAISHO X ALICE Epilogue, but will probably only come back to it on a evening when I'm not streaming Like A Dragon 8.

✨ Forever home -- Settled the outstanding major furnishings!

On Thursday, I spent the afternoon taking buses to get to the apartment, get a faulty light replaced, receive the delivery of the remaining lights, purchase a bathroom mirror, and drop off the items back at the apartment before heading back home.

I touched so much grass, walked so much, and almost vaporized under the scorching sun. But I was so happy that at the end of the day, all the effort was worth it! 💖

I love garlic bread. 💕

On Saturday, we ordered all other furniture except those we plan to get from IKEA. IKEA seems to only hold orders for 3-5 days, so we will need to order the stuff at a later date. The current plan is for all our furnishing (except a glass display cabinet and full length mirror) to be delivered and installed by 24th July, and for us to move on 11th August after giving ourselves ample time to air and clean the apartment and pack our stuff for moving.

I can't wait to give our belongings a storage space and display spot that they deserve. ❤️

Oh yes, and we dropped by IKEA to test out a curtain rod that we purchased online. 🤣 Fortunately it works! Also, what's a trip to IKEA without a visit to the restaurant? :P

✨ Random interesting thing -- Tried a new microphone for Voice Communication

Yuraia realized that he had this spare Sterling Audio ST55 condenser microphone lying around, so he suggested that I try using it instead of the AT2040 that I've been using. I love how compact the AT2040 looks, so when I saw my weak microphone arm struggle to keep the ST55 in place, I got scared and placed it in a way such that its weight serves to tighten the attachment screw. 🤔

It seems to do a better job at capturing my voice? I'm apparently louder? I don't actually know... 🤣

I guess I'll ask on my next stream since I have not adjusted my volume settings on OBS.

✨ Cover projects -- Recorded harmonies for GHOST and did vocal edits!

Speaking of the ST55, I recorded the harmonies for GHOST on it. Other than that, there isn't much else to say about the upcoming cover. 🤔 I've already shared in last week's update that I spent Monday recording video footage for the cover. I'm still editing the harmonies that I recorded, but I'm hoping for good progress this week! Maybe the cover will be ready by this weekend/ early next week!

GHOST will be the last cover produced where I stay at now. I hope to make it a memorable one! 💜

Also, after GHOST, I don't have any other full-length, solo covers planned. 🥹 I'm looking forward to doing music at the new place, collaborating with others, and doing something different!

I don't have a large following, but I hope I won't disappoint those who care about what I do... 🥺
